Samsung Galaxy Star Pro for Rs. 6989 listed on online Stores

The Samsung Galaxy Star pro model number S7262 a budget friendly phone gets listed on HomeShop18 for Rs. 6,989. This handset runs on Jelly Bean OS and is powered by a 1GHz single core processor.
The Samsung Galaxy Star Pro S7262 with dual SIM support looks like other high end Samsung phones. It inherits  the same traditional design with two touch buttons and a dedicated physical center button for navigation.



The Galaxy Star Pro (S7262) price may seem attractive however the hardware content may not impress many. It is powered by 1GHz single core cortex A5 processor running Android 4.1 with touch-wiz interface. The handset is light weight at 121 grams with a 10.6mm thickness.

This dual SIM handset comes with a 2MP rear camera (without flash) and the front camera is missing. RAM is 512MB and internal storage is 4GB, in addition there is micro SD card slot to add external storage of up to 32GB.  The TFT screen is of size 4 inches with 800×480 pixels resolution.

Another disappoint part is that the handset doesn’t support 3G. Key features are 2G (EDGE), Bluetooth 3 and Wi-Fi (a/b/g/n). I am not sure about the GPS. Battery is 1500 mAh capacity with up to 15 hours talk-time.

Caterpillar (CAT) has announced a new rugged smartphone called the B15 here at MWC 2013 in Barcelona, Spain. The phone is designed and manufactured by bullet under the Caterpillar branding.
The Cat® B15 thrives on a challenge. It’s made of tough stuff – hard knocks, scratches, water and dust don’t bother it. It’s also very smart. It runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is loaded with features like Wi-Fi, an FM radio, media player and file storage can be expanded using microSD cards. The 5MP camera captures the action with one-press continuous shooting.

Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos Gets Android 4.2.2 update

Samsung had announced that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Grand Duos would be released shortly in India.
It seems that the update for the device is finally out now and Galaxy Grand Duos users in India can update their device to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The device can be updated via over-the-air (OTA) and also via Samsung's PC companion app, Kies. The update for the Galaxy Grand is about 490MB and brings an improved version of TouchWiz UI as well, notes the site.
The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update will bring new features like dedicated toggles menu in the status bar, Daydream screensaver mode, lock screen widgets, improved task switching and some performance enhancements. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos is expected to get some new goodies on the TouchWiz side from the flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S4, like the new widgets and home screen.

Samsung has not officially announced plans for releasing software updates for other Galaxy devices, yet.
Launched in the start of 2013, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos natively ran Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
It features a 5-inch display with a WVGA TFT (480x800 pixel) display. It is a dual-SIM smartphone that is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor alongside 1GB of RAM. It includes 8GB of inbuilt storage with additional expansion support up to 64GB. The Galaxy Grand Duos sports an 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
