ഫെസ്റ്റിവല് സീസണില് ദിലീപ് എന്നും താരമാണ്. ഓണം, ക്രിസ്മസ്, വിഷു തുടങ്ങിയ വിശേഷ സമയങ്ങളില് സൂപ്പര് എന്റര്ടെയ്നറുകളുമായി എത്തി വിജയം കൊയ്യുന്നത് ദിലീപിന്റെ പതിവാണ്. പലപ്പോഴും മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെയും മോഹന്ലാലിന്റെ സിനിമകളെ മറികടന്നാണ് ഉത്സവ സീസണുകളില് ദിലീപ് ചിത്രങ്ങള് വിജയം നേടാറുള്ളത്.
ഇത്തവണ ദിലീപിന്റെ വിഷുച്ചിത്രം ‘റിങ് മാസ്റ്റർ’ ആണ്. റാഫി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ കോമഡിച്ചിത്രം 12ന് റിലീസാകും. ക്ലീൻ യു സര്ട്ടിഫിക്കേറ്റാണ് റിംഗ്‌മാസ്റ്ററിന് ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്.
ഒരു ഡോഗ് ട്രെയിനറുടെ വേഷത്തിലാണ് ദിലീപ് റിംഗ് മാസ്റ്ററില് എത്തുന്നത്. ഹണി റോസും കീര്ത്തി സുരേഷുമാണ് ചിത്രത്തിലെ നായികമാര്.
മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ ഗ്യാംഗ്സ്റ്ററിനും പൃഥ്വിരാജിന്റെ സെവന്‌ത് ഡേയ്ക്കും കനത്ത വെല്ലുവിളി ഉയര്ത്താന് റിങ് മാസ്റ്റർക്ക്  കഴിയുമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാം.

Akbar Ali (Mammootty) is forced to enter the underworld after his fathers demisal who later anchors in Mangalore. There he makes a team with Uncle Sam (John Paul) and Mani Menon (Kunjan). The entry of Anto (Shekar Menon) makes the rift between them and what happens next forms the crux

PERFORMANCES
Mammootty is an Actor who can easily take off a movie of this genre with his screen presence and Aura even without much content. Unfortunately he is given a lazy character and is under-utilised big time. Apart from looking cool in some scenes he has literally nothing to do. Nyla Usha has only limited screen space and she is okay. Shekar Menon is impressive as a crazy sadist. But looks repetitive at the few scenes because of too much screen space. John Paul and Kunjan as the villains are fine. T.G Ravi is good in the role of Akbars Godfather. Others are adequate.

STORY – SCREENPLAY – DIRECTION
The story of the movie is wafer thin and is nothing new. All it wanted was an engaging screenplay and good execution. Unfortunately the screenplay is predictable and half-baked. Aashiq who was expected to present it well, disappoints here. His way of slow narration becomes the biggest flaw of Gangster. Apart from some neatly executed scenes which is few and far, there’s nothing from the Director’s part.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT
As expected Gangster is technically top-notch with Alby’s Cinematography taking the the largest pie. Some of his aerial shots are on par with some best works till date. Deepak Dev’s bums are alright and the only song ‘Allahu Akbar’ is placed right but lacks the much needed impact because of the weak writing. The editing could have been better with lots of long sequence testing the patience. Climax fight is well executed and looks realistic. The movie is narrated in the beginning with 2D animation which is done impressively but a movie like this could have been narrated originally which could have been raised the overall impact.

ANALYSIS
The movie starts quiet interestingly with the animated narration and is followed by some stylish scenes. But afterwards writing goes weak and it is just above average towards interval. Post interval things get better and Ajmer portions increases the tempo followed by Akbar’s rise which are fine. Soon it looses the steam and what follows is thawed and boring end. The story, though not new showed an opportunity to become a perfect masala potboiler but the makers had tried something like an experiment which goes half-baked. Gangster can be categorized as an above average fare finally but taking the hype and hoopla around it, it’s a disappointment. Some visuals, a stylish Mammootty remains as positive once you leave the hall.

പടം ആദ്യ പകുതി വരെ.

ആദ്യപകുതി വരെ കാര്യമായി ഒന്നും നടന്നില്ല.. മമ്മൂട്ടി മാത്രം നടന്നു.. ഇടയ്ക്ക് ഇരുന്നു.. പിന്നെ നിന്നു.. അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും ഒക്കെ നോക്കുന്നുണ്ടാരുന്നു.. പക്ഷെ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.. എന്താണോ ആവോ.. ആംഗ്യഭാഷയില്‍ ട്രെയിനിംഗ് നേടിയ അംഗരക്ഷകര്‍ കൂടെഉള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് പിന്നെ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടണ്ട ആവശ്യം ഇല്ലല്ലോ.. ഒരു നോട്ടം.. ഒരു മൂളിച്ച.. അവര്‍ക്ക് കാര്യം മനസിലാകും..അവരും ആരോടും ഒന്നും മിണ്ടുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.. മൊത്തത്തില്‍ മൌനം ഘനീഭവിച്ചു കിടന്നിരുന്നു.. അതാണ്‌ പൊതുവേ ഏഎ അധോലോകത്തെ ഒരു സെറ്റപ്പ്.. പിന്നെ ആകെ ഒരു കോമഡി OBEY എന്ന് തലയില്‍ സ്റ്റിക്കര്‍ ഒട്ടിച്ചു വെച്ച് വന്ന വില്ലന്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.. എന്നെപ്പോലെ ഗ്രാഹുതുരതകള്‍ വീക്ക്‌നെസ് ആയ പ്രേക്ഷകരെ പുള്ളി ഗ്രഹാതുരതയുടെ ചുള്ളിക്കമ്പ് കൊണ്ട് ഇടയ്ക്കിടയ്ക്ക് തല്ലി നോവിക്കുന്നുണ്ടാരുന്നു.. പഴയ എം.എന്‍.നമ്പ്യാര്‍, ജോസ്‌ പ്രകാശ്‌ കാലഘട്ടത്തിലേക്ക് പ്രേക്ഷകരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകാന്‍ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ക്യാരക്ടറിനു സാധിച്ചു എന്ന് തന്നെ വേണം പറയാന്‍.. ഒരു മുതലക്കുളം ഒഴികെ ബാക്കി എല്ലാ സെറ്റപ്പും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.. സ്ത്രീകളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കാന്‍വേണ്ടി ഇത്രയധികം സെറ്റപ്പ്കള്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഒരു ബിഗ്‌ റെസ്പെക്റ്റ്‌.. പിന്നെയുള്ള വില്ലന്മാര്‍ കുഞ്ചനും ജോണ് പോളും ആണ്..
സംഭവം ഇങ്ങനെ ഒക്കെ ആണെങ്കിലും പ്രോമിസിംഗ് ആയിരുന്നു ആദ്യ പകുതി..

രണ്ടാം പകുതി..

രണ്ടാം പകുതി വളരെ സിമ്പിള്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.. ഇക്ക നടക്കുന്നു, ഇരിക്കുന്നു, പള്ളീല്‍ പോകുന്നു, വണ്ടി ഓടിക്കുന്നു, കൊല്ലുന്നു കടല്‍ തീരത്ത് പോയി നില്‍ക്കുന്നു, സന്ധ്യ ആകാന്‍ നേരത്ത് കോട്ടിടുന്നു, എങ്ങോട്ടൊക്കെയോ നോക്കി എന്തൊക്കെയോ ആലോചിച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുന്നു..

വില്ലന്‍ കഞ്ചാവ് അടിക്കുന്നു, മൂക്കില്‍പൊടി വലിക്കുന്നു, പെണ്ണുങ്ങളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നു, വിയര്‍ക്കുന്നു, ഓക്സിജന്‍ പോലും കയറാത്ത ഒരു ഗുദാവില്‍ പോയി ഇരിക്കുന്നു.. ആ സ്ഥലം റഷ്യന്‍ മാഫിയയുടെ ഇന്ത്യാ ശാഖ ക്ലിപ്തം നമ്പര്‍ 69 ആണ്.. അവിടെ വരുന്നവരെ കൊല്ലാന്‍ വേണ്ടി പ്രത്യേകം അറവുശാലകള്‍ ഒക്കെ ഉണ്ട്.. അവിടെ ഉള്ള റഷ്യക്കാര്‍ എല്ലാം കഞ്ചാവ് വലിക്കുന്നവരും ഗിറ്റാര്‍ വായിക്കാന്‍ അറിയാവുന്ന കലാകാരന്മാരും ആണ്.. ആ കുറ്റാക്കൂരിരുട്ട് നിറഞ്ഞ സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് ആണ് അക്ബര്‍ തന്റെ കറുത്ത സണ്‍ ഗ്ലാസും ആയി വരുന്നത്.. സണ്‍ ഗ്ലാസ്‌ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നകൊണ്ട് കൂടെ വന്നവരെ എല്ലാം റഷ്യക്കാര് തട്ടിയ കാര്യം ഇക്ക അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.. പക്ഷെ അക്ബര്‍ ആരാ മോന്‍.. വെട്ടുകത്തിപ്രൂഫ്‌ ആയ ജാക്കെറ്റ്‌ ആണ് അബ്കര്‍ ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് മനസിലാക്കാത്ത വിഡ്ഢികള്‍ ആയ റഷ്യക്കാരെ മുഴുവന്‍ ഇക്ക കോഴിയെ കൊല്ലുന്നപോലെ കൊന്നു കളയും .. പത്തന്‍പത് പേരെ കൊന്നശേഷം ബോധം കെട്ടുപോയ ഇക്കയെ വീണ്ടും എഴുന്നേല്‍പ്പിച്ചു കയ്യില്‍ സ്ക്രൂ ഡ്രൈവര്‍ കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് വില്ലന്മാര്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ വിഡ്ഢിത്തരം ഒരിക്കല്‍ കൂടി വെളിവാക്കുന്നത് കണ്ട പ്രേക്ഷകര്‍ അത്ര വിഡ്ഢികള്‍ അല്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നുള്ള കാര്യം ഏകപക്ഷീയമായ കൂക്കുവിളികളിലൂടെ അവര്‍ അറിയിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ തിയേറ്ററിന്റെ മുകളിലെ പ്രാവിന്‍കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ പോലും ഞെട്ടിവിറച്ചു..

ഒടുവില്‍ പത്തന്‍പത് വെട്ടു കൂളായി വാങ്ങിയ ഇക്ക എങ്ങോട്ടോ നോക്കി ചുമ്മാ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ പടം തീരുന്നു.. ക്ലൈമാക്സിലെയും ആരംഭത്തിലെയും കാര്‍ട്ടൂണ്‍ വളരെ വളരെ മികവ് പുലര്‍ത്തി..

അവസാനമായി ഒന്നുകൂടി പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ വാക്കുകള്‍ അവസാനിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്.. ഡിയര്‍ ആഷിക് അബു, ദൈവത്തിനുള്ളത് ദൈവത്തിന്.. അമല്‍ നീരദിനുള്ളത് അമല്‍ നീരദിന്.. !!

അധോലോകത്തിന്റെ കുടിപ്പകയുടെ ദുരന്തദൃശ്യങ്ങള്‍ വരച്ചുകാണിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രം തന്നെ ഒരു ദുരന്തമായാല്‍? മമ്മൂട്ടിചിത്രം ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്ററും പറയാന്‍ ശ്രമിച്ചത് അധോലോകത്തിന്‍റെ പകപോക്കലുകളെക്കുറിച്ചാണ്, 



ആദ്യദിനം പറയുന്നു, ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്റര് രക്ഷപ്പെടില്ല..!!! 

എതിരാളികളില്ലാതെ എത്തിയെന്ന പരസ്യവാചകമൊക്കെ വെറും വാചകമടിയായിരുന്നു എന്ന് ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്റര് കണ്ട ആരെങ്കിലും പറഞ്ഞാൽ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടേണ്ട. അധോലോക നായകനായ അക്ബര് അലിയായി മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ ചില മാനറിസങ്ങള് ഒഴിച്ചു നിര്ത്തിയാല് മറ്റൊന്നുമില്ല ഗ്യാങ്‌സ്റ്ററില്. മമ്മൂട്ടിയില് നിന്നും ഇതും ഇതിനപ്പുറവും പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ആഷിക് അബു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് കരുതിയില്ല എന്നാണ് പടം കണ്ടിറങ്ങിയ ഒരാള് പറഞ്ഞത്.

കാസനോവ തുടങ്ങിയ കത്തിപ്പടങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലേക്ക് ഒന്നുകൂടി എന്നാണ് കൊട്ടിഘോഷിച്ച് പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്ററിന് ആദ്യദിവസം കിട്ടിയ സര്ട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റ്. വിശ്വരൂപം കണ്ട് കൡയാക്കിയ ആഷിക് അബുവാണ് ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്റര് പോലെ ഒരു അധോലോകപ്പടം എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നതിലുമുണ്ട് ഒരു കാവ്യനീതി.
മലപ്പുറം കത്തി, അമ്പും വില്ലും അവസാനം പവനായി ശവമായി എന്ന നാടോടിക്കാറ്റ് ഫെയിം ഡയലോഗ് ഈ പടം കണ്ട് പുറത്തിങ്ങുമ്പോള് ആരെങ്കിലും ഓര്ത്താല് തെറ്റ് പറയാന് പറ്റില്ല. അത്രയ്ക്കധികം ഹൈപ്പായിരുന്നു ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്ററിനെ ചൊല്ലി ആഷിക് അബുവും സംഘവും ഇറക്കിയത്. അധോലോകം പ്രമേയമാക്കി മലയാളത്തില് നിരവധി ചിത്രങ്ങള് ഇറങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും അവതരണത്തിലെ പുതുമ ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്ററിന് അവകാശപ്പെടാം.

മമ്മൂട്ടി എന്ന സൂപ്പര്താരത്തിന് പറ്റിയ മാസ് സീനുകള് ഒഴിവാക്കി പ്രത്യേക തരത്തിലാണ് ആഷിക് അബു കഥ പറയുന്നത്. ക്യാമറയും ദീപക് ദേവിന്റെ സംഗീതവും മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ ഗെറ്റപ്പിലും ഗ്യാങ്സ്റ്ററിന് അഭിമാനിക്കാനുള്ള വകയുണ്ട്. യഥാര്ഥ തീവ്രവാദികള് കമലഹാസന്റെ വിശ്വരൂപം കണ്ട് ചിരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടാകും എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് പോസ്റ്റിട്ട ആഷിക് അബുവിന്റെ ഗ്യാങ്‌സ്റ്റര് കണ്ട് യഥാര്ഥ അധോലോകക്കാര് എന്തുചെയ്യും എന്ന ചോദ്യം വായനക്കാര്ക്ക് വിടുന്നു.

How to make jalebi

Ingredients:

2 cups maida
11/2 tbsp fine grained semolina or rice flour
1/4th tsp baking powder
2 tbsp curd (plain yogurt)
11/4th cups warm water
1/2 tsp saffron threads, slowly dry-roasted and powdered
3 cups sugar
22/3rd cups water
1/2 tsp green cardamom seeds powder
11/2 tbsp kewra water or rose water
Ghee or vegetable oil for frying


Mix the flour(maida), semolina or rice flour, baking powder, curd and 3/4th cup of the water in a bowl (preferably a ceramic bowl). Mix well with a whisk.
Mix well and then add remaining water and 1/8th tsp. of saffron powder, and whisk until smooth.
Set aside for about 2 hours to ferment.
Whisk thoroughly before use.
Prepare one string syrup by dissolving sugar in the water. Just before the syrup is ready add saffron and cardamom powder.
Heat oil in a kadhai. Pour the batter in a steady stream ( or coconut shell with a hole) into the kadhai to form coils. Make a few at a time.
Deep fry them until they are golden and crisp all over but not brown.
Remove from the kadhai and drain on kitchen paper and immerse in the syrup.
Leave for at least 4-5 minutes so that they soak the syrup.
Take the jalebi out of syrup and serve hot.

Mango Kheer(Rice Pudding) Recipe

Mango Kheer (Rice Pudding) is also known as Aam ki Kheer.

Ingredients:
2 ripe Mangoes,
diced into small pieces (Aam)
1/2 liter Whole milk
4 table-spoon sugar or to taste
1/4 t-spoon cardamom powder (elaichi powder)
5-6 pieces unsalted pistachios (pista)
10-15 strands saffron, crushed, soaked in 1 tsp. warm milk (Kesar) (optional)
5 almonds (Badam)


How to make:
Mash Diced mangoes until they get smooth. 
Keep it aside.
Crush and soak the saffron strands in 1 t-spoon warm milk.
Crush almonds and pistachios coarsely or slice them properly.
Heat milk, bring it to boil. Put the heat to medium and heat for 10 mins.
Then, add sugar, cardamom, saffron, almonds and pistachios. Stir it well until the sugar grains disappear in milk, simmer for 2 minutes.
Then, add Mango Pulp and stir it firmly until it again started boiling. Once it starts boiling, turn off the heat.
Serve Mango Kheer hot or let it get cool at room temperature. You can also refrigerate Mango kheer and serve it cool.
